Hannah,

I'll put it in perspective for you:

Cursive writing can't be read by a computer.  It is a reasonable
accommodation to have it in an accessible format.  They tend to cop out
and have computers read it because they can't or won't control the quality
of human readers, and human readers cost them more.

You don't have a choice with cursive writing, no computer can read it.  It
has to be a human being.
