[nabs-l] An opinion is requested

Hi Evelyn and all,

Technically someone can get elected if they are nominated even if they
are absent. I have seen this done at a student division business
meeting or two. Unfortunately, though it's legal, it's very hard for
the absent person to get elected since they can't speak on their own
behalf, and oftentimes someone else will take the opportunity to jump
on the contest and get elected.
