[nabs-l] Introduction and some thoughts

Marty,

You came in during the middle of a heated discussion. The list is
usually a LOT quieter and a LOT calmer. Give it a week and it'll be
back to normal.

The first suggestion I have is to fill out a FAFSA if you have not
already done so. That's at http://fafsa.ed.gov/ and it can be done
online with a screen reader. Iowa may have a state scholarship, but
you've missed the NFB's national scholarship this year.

Your state may have tuition waivers and other things for certain
categories of people. Are you a veteran by chance? Several states
offer partial and sometimes even full tuition waivers for veterans.
A smattering do so for people with disabilities or other financial
needs.

My advice for math is to learn to use an abacus. It's equivalent to
pencil and paper for a sighted person, but with practice it's as
effective as a calculator. APH sells a great book on using the
abacus, as well as the abacus itself.

What will you study, and where?

Wishing you success, because I don't believe in luck,

Joseph
