Peter:
You have a very good point.
Specially for us here in NYC, who live close to the HQs for some of these charter companies.
Might be a good idea to, for example, use it as a way to get to Albany or Buffolo for our state conventions and not have to depend on a sighted driving member to take us there.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against using other ways of transportation to get there, and I'm certainly not against sighted friends helping out when needed, but it is a choice to consider if one wants independent travel without having to rely on anyone outside the group.
