Yup. And I think Dr. King Jr. *knew* he was going to die. The night before
he was shot, he gave a speech wherein he said "I've been to the mountaintop
and nothing can touch me now ...". by this he meant that he was not afraid
so even if he was assassinated, the thought didn't bother him so he was
invulnerable to pressure to sit down and shut up.

Josh,
  As sad as it is, it happens all the time.  Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and
so many others who've fought against the status quo get all sorts of
resistance.  In terms of ability, I think Jernigan was right up there with
those guys...or pretty dang close!  We're lucky noone acted on their death
threats against him, like they did with dr. King and Gandhi.
