[nabs-l] citing APA style

Hello Ashley,

If you want you can download this book from www.bookshare.org. The book is
called: "A Pocket Style Manual, 5th edition, 2009 MLA updates and 2010 APA
updates by Diana Hacker." I used this book last quarter in my English class
and sounds pretty good about explaining APA style and formatting. So if you
have some time you can download, otherwise, just research on the internet to
find how you do that. There is also a web site whose URL is
http://www.EasyBib.com/, which will do any kind of citation you want for
you, but you might not want to stick with it all the time as you may be
caught cheating or "addicted" to it and making you not learn the citation
format yourself. Just check it out, like if you want to know how you can
cite in APA style and look at a sample.

Also, talk to your instructor. If you are in an English class higher up,
like let's say, English 201, the instructor will look at you weird when you
ask him, assuming that you would know already how to cite, however if you
are like in English 101, you can ask him or her with more confidence knowing
that he or she can help you.

Cheers,
Humberto

Subject: [nabs-l] citing APA style

Hi all,

I'm struggling with the citation style as usual. Jaws doesn't tell me the
formatting of the words and I went word by word to hear punctuation in the
sample reference entry I looked up. I do have to alphabetize them, right? I
know you do in MLA.

How Do I format the Journal title and title of article? Do I put italics or
anything on it? Before there were quotes around the title of article, but
when I looked online now, there are none.
How do I site the volume number and issue? The sample says number and a
parenthese number. I'm confused. I know I site the page number range after
this. Like do I write Journal of Adolescent psychology, 3 (24) and the 3 is
volume number and 24 is issue number?

Thanks.
Ashley
