[nabs-l] Recording with apex

Correct—the Apex records in WAV format. You may be thinking of the Victor Reader Stream, which now records in MP3.

I still prefer Recording things on the Victor Stream, even compared to an iPhone, because of the really easy bookmark/highlight bookmark options.  If you're going to be doing serious recording, I probably suggest you go that route if it's viable for you.
