Don't listen to the folks who say you are too independent. 
Second, if you are going to get a PHD, make sure you know what you want to do with it.  Are you looking to be a professor and teach?  Are you looking to help change policy?  Make sure you know how you plan to use that.  Ask you-self What jobs can you get?

Dear NABS,

I would love to know how you chose your career path?

I'm preparing my B.A. in Comparative Literature this spring and I don't know if I'll continue with a M.A. or if I'll try to join the work force.

I've never had a clear dream of what I want to become when I'm an adult; and I'm still wounds after my 6 years with a disability pension. I would love to get a Ph.D in Comparative Literature, but I don't know any Blind people who've take that route (I live in Sweden).

Where few (totally) Blind people go to the university here, so I've any people to look up to! My route so far hasn't been free from bumps and hardships, but I'm still swimming even if some days are harder than others.

I don't know why I write this, but where few Blind people here understand what I'm talking about. I'm not your average Blind woman here, I'm too independent according to my Blind acquaintances.

I need your fresh perspectives. Thanks for listening!
