Dear Jeff:

Yes, there are many blind O&M am teachers. Have you gone to training? If not, you should consider going to Louisiana Center for the blind. There you will find many blind role models, including three blind cane travel teachers.

If this is your dream, I think you should go for it. Feel free to email me off list and I can talk to you more about training.

Best regards,
Mikaela

I am totally blind and I was wanting to know if any buddy has gone into this field or has known anyone who has done this. I love everything travel, and I love working with people and teaching them cane skills, and everything that would come along with helping a person to become an independent traveler.

Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
