[nabs-l] Accessibility of Pearson

Hello,

I currently use Mastering as part of my biology coursework, and my assessments of it match much of what has already been said. I did as many questions as possible on my own, and had a hired reader to help with any questions I could not accomplish myself. My professor and I discussed mastering several times due to the fact that my course required quite a bit of extra work. My professor was involved in working on Pearson accessibility for biology. There are several types of questions utilized in Mastering for biology. Some involve animations, though they are not necessarily needed to answer the questions. There are questions where lists of information must be grouped by dragging and dropping the items. There are also figure questions that display a picture or graph, and many of those, at least in my course, have been adapted with text explanations attached for visually impaired users. THis program is usable, though can be frustrating. I wish you luck, and if I can help further feel free to message me off list at logan4447 at gmail.com <mailto:logan4447 at gmail.com>

So maybe, if it'd be easiest for you, you can go talk to someone in your disability services department about what accomodations can be put into place to help you.
