[nabs-l] JAWS

Hello,

It seems like many of you including those tech savvy people are having
trouble with Jaws 18 and either Word or Outlook.
Given that these are mainstream products used often in work settings, this
could be a serious problem since if you are typing or something important,
you do not want jaws to conk out on you. Without jaws, you are clueless and
would need a sighted person's help to save your work and shut down the pc
properly.

Does freedom scientific know about this? Kelsey, did you contact FS about
this? This sounds bad and something FS needs to be working on ASAP.

I've got jaws 18 and I think it has froze on me in Word. I'm using older
software. Its windows 7 and Microsoft 2010.
I'll keep this all in mind and next time it crashes on me, I'll make a note
and call FS.

Ashley

Which version of Outlook are you using and which build of JAWS 18? I have
also had problems since a recent build, Build 2738, of JAWS and Office 2016
through Office 365. Certainly problems are minimized by more speed and more
memory, but it does seem as though something has gotten more troublesome
recently. I have reverted to JAWS 17 when I know I am going to be doing a
good deal of work in Outlook, Word or Excel, and the problems are a good
deal less when I do that.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

I think this problem doesn't matter what version of jaws that you have. I
am running 18 and outlook, they both work fine on my machine.
