[nabs-l] Some Questions regarding the NFB National Convention

Hello Helga,

I think it is great that you're interested in attending national convention even though you cannot afford to attend the entire convention. I have a few suggestions for you that may help you determine which days you would like to attend the convention.

A majority of the meetings and main events of the national convention generally follows a consistent agenda pattern that is used from year to year. Therefore, if you would like to get a good idea of what this year's national convention agenda will be light,  I would suggest that you look through last year's national convention agenda,  as the format of this year's convention agenda will most likely be similar to the format of last year's agenda. A simple Google search should help you locate last year's national convention agenda.

Also, you may wish to contact the hotel to see if you can reserve a room for more nights than what you may need with out receiving a penalty for canceling the rooms you do not need after you reserve your room. I do not believe you would receive any penalties for doing such a thing, but it would be best to contact the hotel to confirm this is the case. The hotel should be able to go over all of your options for staying at the hotel even though you may not necessarily know how long you want to stay at the hotel.

Some of the highlights of attending national convention for me include The nabs business meeting and the banquet. Since these events take place at the opposite ends of the agenda , I generally attend the entire National convention when I am able to attend national convention. If you are looking to network with others while attending national convention, I would suggest attending the first half of national convention. However, if you are more interested in being inspired by various beaches, I would suggest attending the second half of the convention. However, this is just simply my opinion. If you tell us what you are interested in doing while attending national convention, we can help suggest which days would be best for you to attend a national convention when you cannot afford to attend the entire convention.
