Our Access Technology team here at the Jernigan Institute recently wrote
about this problem in a blog post that you can find here.

TL.DR version: Firefox quantum is inaccessible, Freedomscientific is working
with Mozilla, you should install Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) for
now.

That's not a bad idea.

Or you could convert to NVDA, get the Eloquence synthesizer, and you won't
have this problem at all.
