[NABS-L] Braille Watches

I have a Bradley watch and I can confirm it is great. It takes a little bit to figure out how it works but once you do it's great. You can't accidentally change the time when you're checking it, and you don't have to worry about the catch to the lid breaking (which kept happening to me). I had my watch for four years without a problem (aside from getting the battery replaced a few times). I recently had a problem, and their customer support was great. They had it repaired and sent back to me within two weeks and no charge. I've never liked talking watches because they're disruptive in situations like classes or meetings where you want to be quiet. I'll probably never get an apple watch for that reason. But the Bradley solves all my problems with Braille watches, and it's also apparently really cool looking and stylish. Happy to answer other questions about it.

In case you're interested in other ideas, I've recently heard of a Braille smart watch called the Dot Watch that sounds pretty cool, but I don't know too much about it beyond the fact that it exists.

Hello Ian.

Have you checked out the tactile watches from Bradley? They are different than traditional braille watches. There have two small spheres that travel around two circles on the watch. There’s one on the outside, and one surrounding a circle on the inside. One represents the hour, and one represents the minute. You can feel the position of the spheres to get the time.
I don’t have one myself, but I know someone who really likes it. Here is a link to their website:

Hope this helps,
Jonathan

I mean, I guess that you could pull out your phone, but if you're in a meeting that wouldn't be good. I just don't want to get a new watch, then next year have this happen again.
