[NABS-L] Which Braille Display Should I Get

Hi all!
I have a Polaris Braille Sense that’s ok pending on what you’re looking for. I had better luck with getting it to run with NVDA than with JAWS. If you do decide to get one, I don’t recamend HIMS because their costumer service isn’t great.  There is not a lot of information on the Polaris Braille Sense on the internet either. So, I do advise you to do look at the Polaris Braille Sense as an option, particularly with making graphs using math. I think that’s one of its strengths. Meanwhile, I think that the weaknessis outweighs their strengths. The reason why I pointed out the Polaris Braille Sense is so that you know that it’s out there and have a bit of a sense of what one is like while using one. I personally would take a closer look at the Human Where Note Plus that’s either coming out or will be coming out soon. I heard better things about the latest from Human Where than I ever have with the Polaris from fellow Polaris users.

Hi Justin,

I have a Freedom Scientific Focus 40 fifth generation which works great with JAWS, NVDA, amongst other screen-readers such as iPhones and more. The display itself contains a microSD card slot for built-in text editing as well as to open and store any BRF files. It’s not even close to a note taker, but is a nice add-on when basic things must be done in a pinch and you don’t wish to connect to any external devices. The built quality and all 40 cells are nicely built, and could connect up to 5 bluetooth devices at once, and with it being a Freedom Scientific product JAWS will love having that display connected.
