Dear NABS Listserv Members,
The National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE) is proud to
announce the release of our latest publication of the A World Awaits You
(AWAY) magazine on disability and international exchange. The latest
edition focuses on internationalization efforts at community college
campuses and how CCs can welcome international students with disabilities
while sending more U.S. SWDs abroad. Areas covered will include:
• Why 3 students with disabilities from Sweden, Pakistan and Hong Kong
opted to enroll in U.S. community colleges
• How three U.S. community college students with disabilities seized
opportunities through their school to study abroad in Ireland, Singapore,
and the Czech Republic
• Advice for success from community college staff and leadership
• Tips from study abroad alumni for raising funds
• Resources from the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and
Cultural Affairs, including the Gilman Scholarship and EducationUSA
advising centers.
