Amy,
There are people with a good deal of SPSS experience on the
BlindMath list. It might be worth subscribing and asking your question there. I know that people say that SPSS has some shortcomings, but people seem to use for a lot or things when they have to. You can get information and subscribe to the BlindMath list by going to
http://www.nfbnet.org/mailman/listinfo/blindmath_nfbnet.org
and checking that out. As has been pointed out, Excel can often be used as an alternative to a statistics package, and some like the statistics program "R" as well.
One of the things we always have to balance is whether it is worth using another more accessible alternative for which one will get less support in the classroom or whether one should just use someone to do reading to get past the parts of SPSS that are difficult. If SPSS is preferred, it is almost certain that there will be instructions specific to SPSS as part of the course. People on the BlindMath list might be familiar with the specific version you need and how well you can use it which might help you making a decision.
Best regards,
Steve Jacobson

Subject: [NABS-L] SPSS and JAWS Accessibility Question
Hi All,
I’m an undergrad psych student taking a Quantitative Methods course
this coming semester, and we are required to use SPSS. I have JAWS
2020 and the version of SPSS my school uses is 25. I was wondering,
for those who currently use SPSS, how accessible is it with JAWS?
Thanks!
