[NABS-L] Business Excel Lab Accessibility (G-Metrix & Certiport)

Hey all,

Hope all is well with the start of second semester. These are some of the questions that I have for any students or former students that have perhaps had to take a business courses or lab that involves Microsoft Excel training and certification exam. The business excel lab-1002 course is a self directed course where I use the skill management system called GMetrix to master the skills necessary for the Microsoft Office certification exam using Certiport. I’m primarily a Mac user with Office 2016 installed, although if Windows is required for GMetrix I could always Bootcamp or acquire a Windows machine. So here are some questions for anyone who may be familiar with either GMetrix or Certiport exam process as I’ve done neither of these in the past.
1. How accessible are GMetrix and Certiport exam? Certiport allows accommodations such as extended time.
2. Windows or Mac for the GMetrix and Certiport? As a followup to the question, is it better for me to have JAWS or NVDA? I’m aware that Microsoft Excel tends to be more accessible on Windows with either JAWS or NVDA compared to running Excel on the Mac with VOiceOver.
3. How is GMetrix when it comes to instructional materials that they have for mastering Excel and the accessibility aspect? It doesn’t have to be GMetrix necessarily, but any software that you may have had to use for the office certification exam.

If you happen to know of anything else that I should communicate with my instructor or GA or of anything that I should be aware of please let me know as well. I anticipate that all should be accessible but mainly looking for suggestions from the accessibility perspective. I’m fluent in using JAWS, NVDA, and VOiceOver and all paired with a Braille display.
