With the 2022 Holman Prize application acceptance period coming to a close, LightHouse’s Holman Prize team has been busy spreading the word to blind communities and organizations all over the world. Each year we receive submissions from blind and low vision individuals far and wide with big ideas, and while the people, places, and ideas may vary, there is something all Holman Prize applicants have in common—Blind Ambition.

Recently, Holman Prize team member Lee Kumutat had the pleasure of speaking with Toby Davey from RNIB Connect Radio<https://audioboom.com/channel/weeklyconnect>, a UK podcast program for blind and partially sighted people. The two discussed the Holman Prize, the application process, and what the judges are hoping to see in this year's candidates.

The 2022 application submission period ends soon on March 20. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to listen to the Holman Prize episode<https://audioboom.com/posts/8022064-holman-prize-for-blind-ambition-2022-applications-now-open> on RNIB Connect Radio. You can also visit the Holman Prize website<https://holman.lighthouse-sf.org/> or email any questions you may have to holman at lighthouse-sf.org<mailto:holman at lighthouse-sf.org>.

We are looking for three new people to carry out their ambitions of breaking barriers, pushing boundaries, and challenging perceptions of what it means to be blind or have low vision. Perhaps one of those three people will be you!

If you need some inspiration, check out the 2020<https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBgTkRMP5uazSoVgtaYI6k0WsKJPyokD5> and 2021 finalists<https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBgTkRMP5uaxt0XCtSRk5XuLelAmNtRAy>' pitch videos on YouTube. You have only 10 days left until March 20 to submit your application.

Good luck, 2022 applicants!
