Hello All,

I understand where you are coming from. During my experience, I have never
had an assigned seat on Amtrak. I have always been able to sit where I want
too without any complaints.

On the other hand, when I have traveled on the airplane, I tell them in
advance that I don't need a wheelchair. If it is a large airport and I am
on borrowed time I will use the cart (the one they drive inside the
building).

When I use public transportation, I have never been forced to sit in a
particular seat. The ADA says that priority seating is required for them to
have for those individuals who need it and want it BUT we are not required
it use if we don't want too.
