Subject: Announcing 2026–2027 Priorities and Committee Leadership Opportunities

Dear NABS Nation,

I hope this message finds you at the start of a fantastic semester! 😊

I am writing with some exciting news on behalf of our student division leaders. The 2026–2027 National Association of Blind Students Board of Directors is excited to share our priorities for the year ahead! As we look toward another year of growth, connection, and action, the Board has identified four key areas of focus:

*	Fostering intentional partnerships and efforts with our national center and staff
*	Maintaining and unifying our website, social media presence, and brand
*	Restructuring our committee work
*	Revitalizing the liaison program

As part of this work, our committee structure has evolved to better support the priorities of the student division and provide meaningful opportunities for members to get involved. Moving forward, we will function with the following committees:

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee creates engaging content, promotes student division events and initiatives, and helps ensure everything we share reflects the philosophy and values of the National Federation of the Blind. From social media and email to our website and beyond, committee members use their creativity to keep blind students informed, connected, and engaged.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee is where creativity, teamwork, and impact come together! Members dream up and bring to life exciting fundraising efforts with a shared goal of raising $8,000—the fundraising goal set by the student division’s Board of Directors. Along the way, committee members build community, gain valuable leadership experience, and have fun while generating the resources needed to fuel student division programs and advance the work of the National Federation of the Blind.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is dedicated to helping students feel connected, supported, and empowered within the division and beyond. This team recruits and welcomes new members and helps students discover opportunities such as scholarships, mentorship, and educational programs. Committee members also help graduating students find their place within the National Federation of the Blind, ensuring that everyone has a pathway to continue growing and contributing to the movement.

Ready to Get Involved? It is finally time to express your interest in committee leadership opportunities! If you are passionate about the work of the National Association of Blind Students and are ready to help lead one of these committees, we want to hear from you. You can express your interest by completing the form below anytime between now and end-of-day Wednesday, September 30:

https://forms.gle/ZkuxsLV1uExXLLsHA

Whether you are interested in communications, fundraising, membership, or simply want to help strengthen our division in the year ahead, there is a place for you in this work. We are excited to build these committees together and see what we can accomplish as a student division!

Let’s make 2026–2027 a year of connection, creativity, and action. We can’t wait to work with you!

Yours in the Federation,

Elizabeth
