Hi Mardi and Bunni,

Mardy, I am so glad things with your new trainee are progressing so  
well.  I think she and Laveau are around the same age; Laveau is  
around 16 months old.  She got her CGC two weeks ago and I was very  
proud of her.  We need to do a bit more traffic training and then I  
think we'll be close to finished; hopefully around the holidays.

I also obtained Laveau from a shelter but I was really hoping to go  
through a breeder this time.  However Laveau came around at the right  
time and she is a fabulous dog so I couldn't refuse to take her home,  
grin.

Bunni, welcome to you and Lady on the list.  I have a lab/doberman  
cross named Laveau in training right now.  She takes after the  
doberman side of her family, except for her labbish food obsession  
*sigh*.

When I was looking for a trainee, I looked at:

this is because a naturally reared pup was very important to me.  I  
also looked at Dalmatian breeders because I really wanted a dog of  
that particular breed.  I ended up with neither a dal, nor a dog from  
a breeder but I believe that things worked out for the best.
