I agree with Marian, why do the schools need to know health insurance
status? 
To the poster who says that the school would make other arrangements if
a person did not have health insurance, can you clairify what exactly
those arrangements would be? 
One wonders.

I'm pretty sure that emergency rooms have to treat you with or without
insurance. If it's truly an emergency they will  treat first and get
paperwork later.
