[nagdu] "Secrecy"?

Rebecca,
    There is a huge difference between "secrecy" and privacy. Just for the 
record, I have shared a little information but, due to privacy, choose to 
not share more.
    As for "the industry" knowing best, I believe it is akin to whether the 
agency professionals know what is best for us or whether we are capable of 
making our own decisions. Either we are competent adults who deserve the 
respect and the "dignity" nearly every school says a guide dog provides or 
we are not! Either we have legal ownership rights or not! The schools are 
not our custodians, guardians, or parents!
    I have chosen the school I will get my next dog from - The Guide Dog 
Foundation - based upon their attitudes and belief in the capabilities of 
their blind consumers, coupled with their provision of community training.
