What I used to do was put the harness on the dog, and then use my cane 
to heel the dog.
this way I could keep the dog with me.
Where she didn't have to work.
Now she was the kind of dog who got upset over the white cane.
Couldn't understand why I would have it with me.
So I would heel her down the blocks and then let her guide across the street.
then she did better for me.
She worked up all the way until she had to be put down.
A golden who didn't wish to give up.
What a baby she was.
Many laughs I had over her.
