Hi Lisa,
I keep one of the telescoping NFB canes in my back pack.  I usually don't 
use it, but I have on a couple of occassions - more right before I retired 
Jacob. If he didn't feel like working right near the time of his retirement, 
I'd just pull out the cane and use it while heeling Jacob by the leash.
