I can't confess to always carrying a cane, but when I do, it's a telescoping
one, to keep the weight & bulk down.
I can tell you I will be much more intentional about carrying a cane during
fireworks season, as Rhoda will sometimes decide cowering, or running, for
fear, is preferable to guiding.
Then it's wonderful to be able to whip out my cane and heel her.
