Okay, my question, though, is what were the lessons about? Was it something
that could be slightly modified to use the dog, or was it something that had
to be done with a cane? And just to clarify, yes, I do support the learn new
areas with a cane idea.
Also, something that this center is not taking into consideration is the
dog's training. Most schools remind the dog recipients that a long period of
not working with the dog can result in the dog forgetting how to work. When
I went home over Winter break, I did not work Lexia as much as at college,
so she was a bit rusty when we got back.

Meghan I would have to totally agree with you. I went to the Colorado
Center for the Blind in 2000 and there were students there that had dogs and
they could use them for most everything with the exception of the mobility
lesson.
