[nagdu] another question for those of you that have pet dogs

Hi Lisa;
When I brought Verona home from Guiding Eyes,, my pet dog was a bit put out
but I did my best to keep the routine from guide dog school and after a few
weeks, things are fine. My pet dog does not distract my guide dog very much
when we are doing obedience or harnessing up. However, when we come home,
they are very happy to see each other and I do have to remind Verona to wait
and behave so I can unharness her. My pet dog may need a command to sit or
get in her crate until we are settled, of course. But it's no big deal.
The most important lesson I learned from the trainers is to treat them
equally but separately. Feeding, walking, and even play time for each is
part of their socialization process.
