[nagdu] statistics on service animals

Hello all,

Does anyone know if there are statistics out there on how many people wiht disabilities use service dogs and on how many use other types of service animals such as miniature horses or monkeys?
I'm doing a story where such information would be very helpful.
I told our editors that it may be difficult to come up with good figures since there is no agency to certify or register service animals.

Any help is grately appreciated.
