[nagdu] Airline Baggage Question

Last summer, I flew from WI to PA.. I had heard through some grapevine or
another that there was a waver on bag fees if you had equipment for a
service animal. I was flying United, and I called ahead. They didn't
charge me for checking Kirby's collapsable soft-sided crate. I plan on
calling ahead, because I don't feel like getting there and hoping they know
the policy. When I called, they somehow put a note by my name or something
so the ticket agent would know not to charge me. Of course, this a is a
privilage that should not be abused. If I ask for the fee to be waved, my
luggage that is being checked will be at least 50% Kirby supplies. Not just
a meal or two of her food.
