In reply to the questions raised about wether it was a violation of hippa to have ones
medical condition mentitioned on 2 way radios et by transporters
i found the links enclosed here... from what i could gather the laws of hipaa are to prevent
medical facilities and professionals from disclosing our medical info without our permission.
I do not think (i could be wrong) this privacy law effects bus, cab, train employees.

I do not tell anyone i deal with professionally or while shopping, travelling et what my med condition is or why i have a service dog.
if forced to say something (like by the ignorant police chief incident) I say i am disabled and my dog is trained to do things for me i could not do myself, and
the dog enables me to live in a way i could not otherwise. If they ask after that "why do you have the dog? " i say because the ADA says it is my legal right to.
after reading and hearing from other service dog users that their medical biz is spread all over town in gossip I keep my answers general and biz to myself.
