[nagdu] toy suggestions?

Julie,

Shadow balls! /smile/ I finally found out what they really are: iSqueak
balls by JW Pet Company. I also found iSqueak bones! And a Giggler
Bouncing Dog Toy. OMG! That's now on my list.

I found a good selection at
http://www.petmountain.com/category/389/1/dog-balls.html?Brand=61. I've
never heard of them before so don't vouch for them, but they do show the
various balls and puzzles available.

The iSqueak balls come in 3 sizes, and the large one would probably be great
for a boxer. The medium would do well, too, but fits very nicely under the
couch. /smile/ They have some puzzles, I've noticed, as well as the Hol-ee
Roller toys, which I have used to make a super toy for Daisy by putting a
shadow ball (iSqueak) inside of it.

Daisy did manage to mangle a very very old and weathered iSqueak ball when
we first moved in, but the rest have survived well. At the dog park, they
can survive pit bulls (our really, really big pit buddy Buddy) and other
notorious dog destroyers. They hold up much better than the Kongs. Dogs
seem to be fascinated by them even after they lose their squeak, which is
great because the dog has something to mouth and play with while your
eardrums get a rest! Oh, and you can get a really good throw or bounce out
of them without breaking the TV, computer screen, windows, etc., when you
hit them! I have not tried the good crystal or fine china yet. /smile/

JW also makes Cuz balls, which have feet on them and make for really wild
bounces. Some dogs like to chew the feet off, but the one I got Mitzi for
Christmas is still together. Daisy never lets Mitzi play with it, but at
least someone is entertained.

Umm.... Rubber Chuck It balls also seem to survive well, and they don't
squeak. They don't hold nearly the entertainment value of the JW toys,
though.

Subject: [nagdu] toy suggestions?

Does anyone have any good recommendations for toys for EXTREMELY hard
chewers? I especially like the ones that require extra thought, problem
solving or are unusual. That's not absolutely essential though. I'd also
like it if they were large enough so that they don't get shoved under the
couch. *smile*

We have the usual Kong, rope tug, large rubber ball, a large spiky thing
that Orca makes and a Nyla bone. Stuffed toys are totally out of the
question. He very much likes tennis balls or the variety of tennis ball
type toys, but they don't last long.

TIA
Julie
