[nagdu] Updated Air Carrier Access Act Regulations - An Overview of the ACAA Now Available

The Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) regulations have been updated to
incorporate new requirements. They will become enforceable May 13, 2009.
To help you understand your rights under the updated ACAA, the National
Network of ADA Centers announces the release of "An Overview of the
ACAA<http://www.southwestada.org/html/publications/ebulletins/legal/2009
/may2009.html>."

Key changes include:

 *
Coverage extended to foreign carriers;
 *
New requirements for airport and aircraft accessibility and changes in
airport services including reservations, facilities, in-flight and
aircraft acquisitions;
 *
New requirements for passengers who use respiratory assistive devices
including 48 -  hour notification of use in advance of flight;
 *
New guidelines on provision of effective communication for passengers
who are deaf or hard-of hearing;
 *
New requirements for passengers traveling with emotional support animals
or psychiatric service animals to provide documentation and give
48-hours' notice before flight.
