Welcome Katrin!

I'm Julie, the moderator of the list. I also owner train my guides. I'm
halfway? through guide training with my current dog, Monty. He's a lab Boxer
mix, adorable, intelligent, exuberant and OMG high energy!

I don't want to discourage you from going through a program for your next
dog, but I did want to let you know that you may encounter a lot of
difficulty finding a program that will train a dog to meet your needs. The
guide dog programs will only take people who are legally blind. The
programs that train other types of service dogs typically won't train guide
tasks. I'd suggest you start looking right away if this is something you
are seriously considering. It may take a while to find a program that will
meet your needs.

I look forward to learning more about you! Again, welcome!

Julie
