[nagdu] Preventing escapes

I have had success when one of my dogs escaped by running inside and
grabbing the harness. If the dog is close enough to see the harness,
they've come running. Imagine that, work beats play! I don't think it
would always work for Ben, though. I've been trying to sharpen his "Come"
by giving him a kibble reward. At first, I did it pretty regular when he
came from playing in the backyard. Now I just do it occasionally. The
Las Vegas method--you never know when you're going to win.

With my old dog, I used to let her off the leash before I opened the door
to let her in. But that was dumb, so, when I knew she was going to retire
and I'd have a young dog to contend with, I broke my bad habbit and only
let her off-leash once we were safely inside.
