Marion,

Question for you. Given your experience, would you say it is more prudent to
step outside as officers request when dealing with a denial of access
situation? If so, why? Not disputing, just asking as the answer may shed
some really needed light here on things.

Though this man may be obnoxious and causing, or at least looking for, some
of his own problems, if other patrons are allowed to sit after finishing
their food, for some amount of time, and if his dog is behaving, not
disrupting anything, why can't he just sit there? Why can't the matter be
dealt with in the restaurant? Again, maybe there are darn good reasons why
not.

If this man is perceived as a trouble-maker but isn't making any trouble at
the moment, why not let him sit there like other customers? Now, if you do
ask other customers to vacate the place when they finish their food and you
do it on a regular basis, not just for certain groups of customers, like
teenagers or minorities, then fine, the guy has to leave, service dog or
not.

Will there be people who will fake having a disability just to get their
pets into public places? Of course but let's not assume everyone is doing
that, Mr. Business Owner. Although there are a few people within the
disability community who seek out conflict for whatever reason, mostly
filing law suits for money, not all of us are of that mindset so don't
assume we are, Mr. Business Owner, or Ms. Business Owner for that matter.
<grin>
