[nagdu] two quick questions

Tracy,

Yeah, we don't want to look fat and lumpy, do we? That would be dreadful!
/grin/

So Daisy's Dad turned out to be a perfect personal shopper when I was
desperately looking for ways to come up with two complete professional
looking outfits for my consulting gig. And he spent the entire time
lecturing me about how I was absolutely, positively forbidden to put dog
treats and dog bags and etc. in the pockets of each and every item.
Including the nice leather purse that holds everything but won't stay on my
shoulder. It does match the shoes, though, and that's what's really
important, isn't it? /smile/

Added to the conspiracy of it all is the fact that we need to carry around
so much junk just to maintain our appearance! Everything must be just so,
makeup must be fresh... I used to mutter to myself constantly back in my
younger days because it was all so ridiculous and all that stuff we need to
do and carry take up ridiculous time and money... It's all overpriced! We
will not talk about nylons! But, back then at least, a woman on the up and
up would be seriously dinged in her career progress if she didn't dress for
success. I still don't see how wearing blue jeans and sneakers could
possibly affect my ability to work on my computer in a back office out of
view of the public. /smile/

Ah, well. I'm looking into the same options Julie is, for when I do get
work. I'm still looking at getting into consulting, which means I will need
to carry my office with me along with everything else. Along with adaptive
tools. Whenever I try to problem solve there, I find myself picturing a
nice sturdy pack pony. /smile/

Let us know what you decide on, Julie, especially if you find something
suitably professional and useful that doesn't take up your entire paycheck
to buy!

Cinchsacks are like backpacks, except that to close it, one pulls the
straps, which closes the hole in the top, instead of using a zipper, like
most backpacks. Cinchsacks tend to be lighter than backpacks too; at
least my two are. And, because it's all cloth, it's easy to fold or
scrunch up and shove out of sight when I get to my office.

Yep, that old no-pockets-for-women conspiracy! So annoying! I heard it's
because pockets change the outline of the clothes, especially pockets
stuffed with, well, stuff. Makes unsightly bumps in a woman's shapely
shape, or something like that. Me, I just want to be able to carry the
junk I need, and not worry too much about shapeliness.
