[nagdu] ranting

Lora,

It isn't normal break-in stuff for a gide dog to lunge at people. My current
guide did go through a short growling phase at one office where I worked.
She would grumble a little bit to herself, but when she came out from under
the desk (she was on leash), her tail would be wagging at the visitor.
Fortunately, the behavior subsided quickly.

If my dog did what you describe, I would _immediately_ call my school and
explain the situation. This will allow you to voice your concerns, to
receive suggestions, and to begin to create a record with the school of
these incidents.

I'm very sorry to hear about this. I hope it can be solved soon.

Angie

It has been a hard couple of days. Trice my dog guide lounged 2-3 feet and
showed his teeth while barking and growling. He did this to a person who
said hi to me in my office at work. His barking behavior is getting worse. I
think the only reason he didn't attack the person was because he ran into
the desk (he was laying under the desk when this happened) I've tried
correcting him I've tried telling him the situation was ok and walking up to
whatever he is scared of.

What problems have people had in their first year? Is this normal break in
stuff?
