I am really shocked at the attitude toward deaf people. We advocate for
accessibility for blind people in the form of braille, etc, but we expect
deaf people to pay for their own interpreters, assume they can use assistive
listening devices, etc? Responding to questions at close range sometimes
depends on the environment being quiet enough to hear the speaker without
fatiguing. How can we be so calloused toward other disability groups?
