Alan,
You'll discover that while you may not give your dog a drink or
inappropriate food, they may take one or the other or both.
My first dog stole five pounds of steak off the counter one night. She
also liked pina coladas. I was drinking one, put my glass down on the
floor, and turned to talk to somebody. I heard slurp, slurp, and reached
over to find my dog's head as far in the glass as she could get it.
I did learn from both these incidents to kep food and drink away from my
dog, though this is a learned skilll. You'll probably think "My dog is
trained, he won't..." And that is where the fun will begin.
Stuff happens is all I can say. You cannot supervise your dog or
anticipate what they might do 100 percent of the time. You just can't.
If you don't believe me, allI can say is "wait". You'll see.

Alan, what school or schools have you applied to and do you have a date
for
training yet?
