William I realize this is off topic, since it has nothing to do with Guide 
Dogs, but I agree with you.

If you are an independent traveler whether you use a cane, sighted person or 
dog.

How can you blame a tree for where it is, you got yourself to the side walk, 
and if you were using your cane correctly you should have been able to find 
the way around it.  Or am I missing something here.
