[nagdu] Another Reason for Having Your Own Harness

Rebecca,

It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it! /grin/ Maybe you should keep
your travel bag packed, in case I still need someone to come over here and
kick it for me. With all that poodle soccer and yoga and stuff I do, I
actually can kick my own butt without falling on my face (I just verified
that), but not very hard...

Actually, I'm really pleased with the new tool people recommended and have
been using on NFB websites. The set up and migration went so slick I could
hardly believe it -- and that was with me learning the ins and outs while I
was working! I'm still doing some study so that I can get the visual part
of the design to be what I want, but it is functioning and I'm making easy
progress on getting some of the fixes done that used to take, like,
literally, 10 times as long as they should because of my equipment issues.
Whew!

And I have now gotten the rest of my left over, er, crud, from a few years
back tamed down and straightened out and out of the way enough that the site
is in its proper place on my priority list, with few things left to bump it
down just when I think I've got it together. Whew!

Still, keep that travel bag packed! Meanwhile, I need to finish my daily
dose of caffeine and get my butt in gear! /grin/

Does this mean Tami that I can tell you to "get your butt in gear?" :)

Julie,

You are so right! The backend changes in the website I've been working
on
will make it possible to do such surveys there. I haven't announced the
completed changeover yet because I'm still making sure I know the new
backend inside and out and know what I'm doing and everything. And so
that
I make sure the structure is sound for future growth and creating a plan
for
that growth and... Well, nitty gritty stuff.

In other words, it is now possible to put such a poll on the website if
we
want to. I'm thinking that sort of thing should be run by the board
first,
so I'm planning on doing that -- supposing I remember to set my alarm
for
the next board meeting! D'oh!

This is exactly why I think a Consumer Reports type of survey needs to
be
done, comparing the various programs from the perspective of the
graduates.

We want to stop the perpetuation of harness repossession and other
similar
behavior, but still there is some hesitation to speak publicly about
exactly

what is going on. Perhaps an anonymous survey would give a voice to
those
who are afraid to speak up for whatever reason.

JMHO
Julie
