To expand on this:
Though I can be very cutting in my criticism of things I see in the
Federation, I do agree with the basic philosophy about blindness not being
the worst problem of the blind, but social attitudes about it.
Since that is the case almost everywhere, blind people will be subjected to
treatment that someone with normal vision wouldn't be.
Such is the case in regard to guide dog access.
I've been to a few countries, and though my Maine interest was the language
and culture and really couldn't care less about blindness-related things
except when they effected me, I had to deal with it, whether guide dog
access, or people basically thinking blind people shouldn't be students,
people who didn't invite me to their house because they have stairs and were
afraid I'd fall down--smile--I kid you not, etc.

I would love not to deal with this stuff at all, but it doesn't go
away--smile.

I'd love just to have blindness considered my own business and help to be
there if and when I need it.
Anyway, dream on, Dan !--smile
