Hi Jeff:

When I'm carrying a back pack I make sure there is a foldabel ambutek cane in it. Right now I'm trying to see if I can find an id cane that will fold up good enough to fit into the harness pouch on my dogs harness. Then it would just be there and as long as I have the dog there is a lightweight tapable cane with us. I was just told to have the cane in case the dog gets injured or stops working. After having Bogart 7 months I haven't yet pulled out the cane while working with Bogart. There are a couple of times where it might have been useful so I didn't look like, or at least feel like, a bumbling idiot when I'm trying to get Bogart to figure out where the mailbox was that I was trying to show him and label. Generally we get it all figured out though Still think it is a good idea to keep a cane with you just in case.
