Hi Linda, Laveau is natural both ears and tail.
Her ears are similar to that of a greyhound. They kind of look like
fortune cookies. Her tail is curled like a husky. She doesn't wag it
as a Lab or Golden would; she nods it up and down and the whole thing
kind of bounces? That's the best way I can explain it. When she is
working, her tail goes over her back in that curly position and the
back of her tail tickles my wrist like crazy. The nodding motion of
her tail brushes her tail hairs along the inside of my wrist and
sometimes it's just all I can do not to giggle madly. I have seen
other natural Dobermans and many look like she does. There is no
"breed standard" for Doberman tails so really it's kind of a guessing
game as to what you can get if they're not docked. I really want
another Doberman but I want it to be natural, like you said. I love
Laveau's ears which can stick out or almost up, and her very
expressive tail.
