Thank you for answering this. I can understand why you want your
parents' buy-in.

You raise good points. I will attempt to answer them in order.

1) I want to convince my parents because; I am currently living with
them,
and plan to for the next few years. I will live away at college, but I
will
be returning home over the summer, and Christmas vacation and whatnot.
2) I am going to be living with them, or at least part time, so it is in
my
best interest to respect there wishes. I don't think they would pull
college
money over something like this, but going against there wishes will not
earn
me any points either.
3) I am willing to take a stand, but sometimes it is easier to attempt
to
convince them to my side before resorting to forcing the issue. You
never
know, it might work.
4) They have never clearly stated their objections. They always say
something insignificant that can be easily answered, but then disregard
the
answer.
5) I have explained why a guide dog will be helpful. They just don't
understand why it is necessary. They think I can be just as good of a
traveler with a cane. Maybe I could, but a dog can do things a cane will

never do.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions. They are making me think, and
refine my arguments. Perseverance, perseverance, perseverance, is the
key to
success.

Thanks
Mark
