Hi Michelle,

How very frustrating this is!  I feel your pain.  You've been given a lot of
great advice, and I'd just add to it by maybe asking the person, if they
have a child, how they would like it if you treated their child like that.
Everyone knows you don't interfere with other people's children unless you
are given permission to do so or you know them really well.  Maybe this
person would understand that analogy.
