[nagdu] Tax Exemptions for Service Animals

And I thought we had it made here in Nebraska because there isn't any sales
tax on food. Well at least I thought it was cool, until I became a home
owner and found out where they make up the lost revenue! LOL Property taxes
are ouch!

But back to the original idea of purchasing items as tax exempt for guide
dog use...I purchase most of my supplies for the dogs via the internet.
99.9% of the places I purchase from are in other states, so there isn't
sales tax anyway. I'm glad someone brought it up though. It had never
crossed my mind that guide/service dog supplies could or should be tax
exempt.

I love to learn new things!
Julie

Marion,

Fear not. They make it up elsewhere in the tax provisions.

However, Oregon and New Jersey have another benefit which is nice. Neither
state permits consumers to pump their own gas.

Dar,
I found it interesting that you said there were no sales taxes in
Montana, so I looked it up. In fact, what I found is that all states except
Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon, collect sales taxes.
Very interesting!

Fraternally yours,
Marion
