Just keep hanging in there, some people don't like dogs but if they can't 
respect that you like them, to be be nice without being offensive I'd like 
to say that maybe they might need to learn how to be more respectful towards 
you in this situation. Sorry, no offence intended here.

I'm sure you'll do very well with your future dog!
